Located just across the border of Gwinnett County in Hall County, Flowery Branch, GA which was founded in 1903, and is one of the smaller local towns with a population of around 7,000 people. Flowery Branch started as an early Indian trading post, and was called called "Anaguluskee", which is a Cherokee Indian word that translates literally as flowers on the branch. A few settlers arrived in the area just before 1874, which was also the year the town originally become a stop on the Atlanta to Charlotte rail route, which was operated by the Atlanta and Richmond Air Line, which was later renamed Norfolk Southern. In more recent years, it's become quite a popular place to live, with a small downtown area filled with antique shops, local breweries and some confectioners, as well as Lake Lanier so close by and so very easy to access through ramps near to the city. Many residents enjoy boating and other lake activities on Lanier regularly, and it's also close to Lake Lanier Islands, a popular tourist attraction locally.

Not only is it close to the lake, but it's also just North of the Mall of Georgia, which is the largest Mall in the State of Georgia, boasting quite a few large department stores, eateries, and other nearby attractions. Going in right by the Mall soon is Top Golf and some other speciality stores in Buford's new Live-Work-Play environment at I-85 and Highay 20. While you're at it, Road Atlanta is just down the way as well , and the Gwinnett Stripers baseball field is also close by. It's a great place to live if you like to be entertained!
